hey there everyone sorry for the thee most newb like question, but i cant get it... ive made my map, put in player_info_start, grass, fenced in, skybox, but when it loads it just gives me the main menu? can anyone please help me out and hopefulyl get this going?? thanks a lot

Did you compile the map? (press F9, make sure everything is on normal, and press enter)

Assuming you did, the way you play a map in HL2 is you enable the console (go to options, keyboard, advanced, enable developer console) and you type "map <map name>" into the console and hit enter (you can hit the ~ key to get into the console at any time). Where <map name> is the name of the map you saved and compiled in hammer.

okay so i got it to load... for some reason i didnt put a sapce and it was okay, problem now is i got stuck in teh map and everytime i threw a gernade... a black box would go where the explosion would be... css"></head><body topmargin=2 leftmargin=2>

Could you be a little more specific?

BTW you can disable java in your control pannel to get rid of those pesky
