So, I'm trying to import an animated prop into Source but I have no idea what I'm doing. I've followed tutorials and I'm up to the point where I drag and drop my .qc file over the studiomdl.exe a DOS window pops up and disappears and no .mdl file is created. I believe it's supposed to be in the same folder as my .smd file but nothing is showing up. Has anyone had this happen to them? What am I doing wrong here? Thanks.<html><head><link rel="stylesheet" href="themes/standard.css" type="text/css"></head><body topmargin=2 leftmargin=2>

drag and drop studiomdl.exe into a command window, followed by a single space, followed by dragging and dropping your qc file into the same window. hit enter to compile. the window stays open that way, so you can see if there were any errors.

(just in case, start>run , type in cmd , hit enter)

What I do is creating a .bat file, from where I launch studiomdl with the .qc filename as parameter. A pause command then keeps the dos screen open. Advantage is, I don't have to have two map windows open at the same time.

Anyway, once you get that window to stay, just look at the error reports in there.
