as stated, a fence surrounding a deck i created is pitch black, but when i look at it from certain angles it snaps into the lighting that it should have. seems weird and i dont know how to fix. i have posted screens to help you understand what i'm saying. Thanks for your time.

Here's the black fence wall....

and if you look just sliiiightly to the right.....bing! suddenly it looks ok. Most of the time it looks black though. there are not a lot of "spots" where it looks like it should normally.

I tried to find a past thread solving this problem....but couldnt find one. So I guess this will be the thread for the future:

Thats most likely the cause of you using a model texture on a world brush. Check to see if its a model/<texture name> texture. If it is, you are incorrect. Replace it .

Also, placing env_cubemaps around it and running buildcubemaps sometimes helps.

It's a model texture, for one because this is exactly what happens when you use one, and for two because I can just tell by the texture, it's a wooden fence prop since the planks are so close together.
