I am having a slight problem with a map I am working on. When in hammer, all of the textures on my map look the way they should. Once in game, however, a few of the textures switch to a solid black texture that does not fade or change to the original (as in some of the other posted problems of the same origin). Here is an example:

If anyone knows how to fix this problem or can lead me to a post or website about this topic, it would be greatly appeciated. Thanks!

So what textures cause these problems? I'd say they are model textures (set to 'VertexLitGeneric' instead of 'LightmappedGeneric'), in which case you should simply use other textures, but perhaps it's a different issue indeed.

Well, I replaced the textures I am using (stone/stonewall033a) with the stock texture (brick/brickfloor001a), and the same problem occurred. So, I assume that the problem does not relate directly to the texture that I am choosing to use. Any other possibilities?

Is the area just environmentally lit?
Try placing normal lights near it and maybe it'll light up.

It's a bug, my guess it's vrad. Try changing the architecture slightly (or use different combinations of brushes to build the same bits). I had a wall similar to this.
