I'm making a mod based on HL2MP, and in gameinfo.txt, i have loaded the SteamAppID 320
But now whenever I load any map, it jumps out to windows and says "unable to load authentication library exiting".
I did use SteamAppID 215 before, but its a piece of crap. I get squashed up multiplayer settings, a facefull of pink checkerboxes for my MOTD, blocky black squares around the gravity gun's energy halo thingys, half of the hl2 weapons are entirely missing models and or code, and all of HL2MP models are gone, yet when i type impulse 101 it loads the weapons that I DONT HAVE anyway (because i based my mod off the hl2mp source code). And if i try to fire any weapon which i dont have a model for, the whole computer freezes permenently. AND i can't use the flashlight, ever.
I dont want SteamAppID 220 either, because it will load a phat ass map just to get into the main menu.

Sooooo.... anyway i was wondering why I am not allowed to use the GCF for HL2MP even though the source code is ripped straight from it? Also is there a way I CAN?

ask me if anything was unclear! thx in advance

Quoting from a post of mine in this thread:

I found a fix on the steampowered.com forums:

It worked for me, hopefully it works for you as well, Arzie.

So in your case the steamclient.dll should go in your mod folder, I assume. Hope that helps. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

thanks for replying!
I downloaded source dedicated server, but no folder! wierd...

EDIT: I found source dedicated server GCF so I snatched the steamclient.dll from there. I put it in bin and... no nothing changed.
