Would anyone have an idea how to script a motion tracker? Just wondering of this has even been done with HL2 before.

I was thinking that a floating camera could be used, or something similar. Any ideas? I'm not a coder, but a mate of mine works with C++, so he may be able to help.

Could you explain in more detail what exactly you mean by motion tracker? An overhead radar-type thing a la Halo?

Still don't know what you mean.
Could you maybe elaborate more on what you want somethingelse to follow, and what the thing is you're following?

Hell, is an half-filled auditorium

AFAIK there's only two or three people who do code at the Snarkpit, and none of them are especially familiar with Source as I recall.

Just a guess, but you might be able to use the velocity of some particular entities to control the density of a particle effect, and have the particles emit from a point relative to the player on a panel.

Hmmm, particles....

Took me forever to get used to the damn things in my 3D package, god knows how Source works them! image

This is the type of thing I mean Junkyard...
