OK I think I've had a crash of some sort. On my latest map the 3D view simply does not work. All other maps show up and seem to work fine. I can select and move objects in 2D views, and the map still compiles, without any error messages at all. But its like the camera is gone. No view works, 3D, 3D wireframe, unshaded polygons, nothing. Did I accidently delete the camera or something?. All other maps show up fine in 3D. Help would be greatly appreciated as I would lose about 16 hours of work!

Try manually placing the camera (shift-c) then shift drag somewhere in a side view.
At least this works for me. The first time you start a map (after some update long back) you won't get anything in the 3d window unless you manually place a camera.

Or try pressing ctrl +shift +E that normally centers you right on a brush in the 3d view.

That was the problem, thanks. I have never lost my camera before but I knew(hoped) nothing else was wrong. I tend to map in long hand so I don't know all the groovy time saving keystroke combos.
