So I got some kinda big deals that I need help with....pretty much the skybox.

Skybox goes black from many angles (started I started to add things into skybox):

The water is noticeably different. I'm think I should just make a sandbar, but I didn't wanna have to do that if possible:

edit:
I just noticed I compiled with 2 sky_cameras. I don't know if that would cause the blackness or any other side effects.

You should only need 1 sky_camera. That may be the cause of the problem. Also - do you have a leak in your level?

No no, no leak. See the water has the water fog inside the level like normal. Everything inside the map is normal, but the skybox water is what isnt adding the fog. I don't know why.

edit: that seam at the water you see is where the skybox starts.

The sky_camara is stupid, it doesn't know where you are in relation to the edge of the world, so the fog effect of the water won't look right.

Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch

So essentially I have to make it so I can't see underwater at the skybox?

The edge of the skybox is far enough away from the docks so that the player can't see the edge.

Try skybox fog, that may work.

If I recall, didn't the initial coastline area in HL2 have an absolutely massive in-level body of water? I'm guessing the only reason it didn't smash framerates was because of cheapwater.

Well, I don't know, but it didn't need to have, just because going out a couple of yards would get you eaten by those eels or whatever they are.

It was necessary, otherwise the player could've used the gravity gun to hurl trash at the skybox.
