Howdy folks. I stumbled upon this place looking for some tutorials for the new hammer editor for halflife 2. Kind of wondering if this is the same snarkpit from back in the day?
Anyway, my name is Dan and I hail from Cali. I have been mapping ever since hammer was known as worldcraft. (gasp) I haven't ever released anything, but I have a few levels I could probably consider "finished" without much discomfort :P
Maybe I'll get off my duff and post some screenshots/downloads.
Hope to get to know some of ya!

I think we have a few others here that currently reside in California too; perhaps they'll make an appearance here. For reassurance this indeed is the one and only SnarkPit. We had a face-lift about 2 years ago, and have been updating ever since. New features and design gives us admins a bit more control over the chaos that might arise every now and then.
We still have our old database of maps, tutorials -(articles now) and downloads, and is still growing with new contributors. We'll host your maps on our servers for free and still have our ratings system.
We'd be more than happy to view some of your work with the Source engine. We support all the official Source engine games and if you have any requests to add a particular Source mod to our database categories, we'll definitely consider it.

Thank you all for the warm welcome I've been poking around with source SDK for about 8 hours now, so nothing spectacular yet. (if ever )
I could show ya my HL1 stuff but that is hardly worthy of notice. Not to mention I can only find 3 of them. Comes with forgetting to make backups when you upgrade computers I guess.
