This map has a discussion topic which can be visited here

Well, it's just from a little project I'm working on. I'm looking for comments and feedback, so feel free to critisise it. I will take your comments into consideration and decide if I should imply your ideas into the map.

Since this is my first map here, I'd just like to say that I am pretty experienced as a mapper, and I have won a compo down at TWHL. Be on the look for that map, as I'm gonna fix it up before I post it for you fellas.

So feel free to say whatever you are thinking. And... er... that's it.

Screenshots are kind of old. Things like light fixtures not aligned properly have been fixed. Just I haven't been bothered to take new screenies.

First shot really captures the Black mesa theme.

Yikes, your video card's worse than mine. Anyway. <br> <br>#1: Best shot. I imagine you can't see the top of the structures on the left in-game so the textures are fine left like that. I don't like the striping on the bridge, there's just too much of it considering there's some right next to the... other part. <br> <br>#2: Ergh. Shrink the wires from the hanging light, they're monstrous. Then... curve it up a bit or something, it's super-bland. <br> <br>#3: Fix the scale on those lights, they seem taller than need be. Not too bad though. <br> <br>Overall: Ergh, just needs some work, not too shabby. Oh yeah, get those new screenies up so people don't end up commenting on stuff you've already changed, you damn scoundrel. <br> <br>Updated: Lower the gamma on those last two screenshots, the color's all drowned out with grey.

Thanks for that Hugh. Yeah, my Nvidia Vanta 16MB is quite crap. <br> <br>#1: You are right. You can't see the top of the little walls there, so the texturing doesn't matter. Something will be done about those stripes. I might change it to the red and white stripes, unless anyone else can recommend anything better thats still in the original halflife.wad. <br> <br>#2: I just realised how big they look. They have now been quartered, and look a lot better. There is some architecture in the room, just didn't choose the best angle for that screenie. Silly me. <br> <br>#3: Scale has now been fixed up. Thanks for mentioning that. <br> <br>I will get some new screenies up when I do my next compile. I might do it on Tuesday sometime. Too lazy at the moment. <br> <br>EDIT: Screenie 2 has changed to better show some architecture, so don't think Hugh is insane because he is commenting on something that isn't there. smiley
