Game: Half-Life 2: Deathmatch

Map Description

This map has a discussion topic which can be visited here

Medium-size map for 8-10 players. It is my first multiplayer and Source map. The architectural design is inspired by the Santa Barbara Courthouse in California. It's a map that I started making with HL, but finished with the Source engine.

but where did you get the model?

PS. I have already made realistic looking trees and some statue-work with displacemnts.

Wow, you've got a sharp eye, ReNo! I did use 0.25 scaling for most of my textures, with the exception of the outside stone floor. I was trying to boost performance by using 1x scaling on this huge brush surface, but I'll experiment with 0.25 scaling (and 0.5 scaling) for the outside floor to see how much of a performance degradation I get.

It's a model. I am flattered that you think I could be that talented with displacement surface.

how the heck did you make that statue? is that a model you made or is it MASSIVE displacement work? [addsig]

Reduce the texture scale on most faces, looks like you are using 1x scale while you should be using 0.25 for most cases. [addsig]

I already have a fountain, a main gate, and some landscaping. They are just not visible from the vantage point of the first screenshot. <br> <br>The frame rates are already hovering around 40 to 50's in some areas, so I can't add a whole lot more to the outside area (where I can't block VIS easily) without suffering more performance hits. <br> <br>But thanks for the comment. <br> <br>P.S. For anyone else, please post your comments in the forum thread. The forum area can hold a lot more messages without cluttering the main map page. Thank you.

I like the building but the outdoors looks boring and dull. <br> <br>Some landscape, bigger front yard, maybe a fountain, main gate and some tweaked lighting would perhaps help? =) <br> <br>Good luck!
