Map Description

This map has a discussion topic which can be visited here

This is my first ever finished map so dont expect miracles, it is a KA (knife arena) based counter-strike map therefor it is very small, I created this map in four hours so it is'nt to pretty it does however offer good gameplay if you are into KA maps.

Sounds like a machinima contest, and if you're looking for competitions on that, check out Machinima.com

An idea for the competition came to me.I know it's a bit late but,I just want to share it now:A movie made by using trigger_camera.I think this is a bit more challenging than making a vista, but it sound interesting to me.What do you think?

I think I've got a good simple description ready; thanks for the feedback guys smiley, I should be able to have something up this Saturday....

If you want to include an entry for GoldSource, I don't see any reason why you can't, but I would also imagine that you wouldn't want to have it judged against Source maps? That doesn't sound very fair to me. However, we can setup a separate Goldsource category that may be judged separately, unless you guys think it should be all open for some reason. I mean, we'll be judging on looks, so is that really a contest?

All I'm saying is, yes, we'll accept Goldsource entries either way, it's just I'm not expecting a lot of them. So there won't be many or enough to be judged against one another. But I'm sure we'd all enjoy roaming around an impressive vista built in Goldsource anyway. smiley

Vista-scape.
But can I make a map for GoldScr?Because I don't like Source maping(don't ask me why). smiley

Yeah I reckon go for it, maybe you could post some screenshots though instead of producing a playable map as I imagine some people wouldn't have Half-Life installed. Or even if your entry still isn't 'officaly' part of the comp, I'd still like to see you make a vista within the competition deadline and according to the rules and post some screenshots in the competition thread. smiley

Why don't you like Source mapping?

Yeah, no need to make it too complicated.

I think for the rules you just need to simply create a vista with the theme of ancient vs futuristic. The vista needs to be the focus of the entry and obviously it's a vista so the player isn't supposed to be able to walk around in it (other wise it's not a vista).

I think that's it. Yes the playable area should be kept small but there's not much point specifying an area the playable space must be.

Just a few clear parameters (vista must be ancient vs futuristic, vista must be the focus of the map) for the entries and leave everything else open, hopefully we can get some interesting entries.

Because I'm weird like that smiley I always have an issue with making things too complicated.

I remember you telling me that before, is that right? smiley
