The concept is good, however you might be hard pressed to translate the Tron world properly with the HL engine. I would look into adding touches of color here and there and definitely make some animated textures so there seems to be life in the map. I believe I posted a tron shot here once:

I'm sure you've played the game, you seem to be off to a good start. Best of luck.

I think the blue in Tron was a lighter shade. It had more aqua and was not very bold.

DAVE... shaddup
you've seen me upset.. *mumbles* asswipe
THX-1138,
honestly bud, i have no real interest in finding the right shade of blue, i was only saying, that with nothing else in there, its kinda hard to say for sure is all.
brightness debates have been here a time or two, with no clear winner, mostly because so many different gamma settings are possible with HL.. my advice tho is, since most people have theres set pretty high, i would go for a bit dim, in an attempt to counter any extra high settings.
i remember the movie, dimly, it was ok, nothing i would care to map for.. but original enuff to warrant doing.
i can offer some feedback, but critiques are no longer one of my main concerns... sorry
we do however have others as qualified as i, perhaps one of them could be convinced.
[addsig]Ok. Well I just happened to use those textures because Im doing blues base first. I will include other colors for sure. As far as blue not being the dominant color, well that's not totally true. All the "good" guys had a blue glow to them, their suits that is. Bad guys, had red glow. The Tron world itself was made up of lots of colors. But a good amount of it, is actually bluish green. Depending on your video settings, the glowing color can be really green or really blue. I don't want to get all technical about it, but if you have the movie, check it out. The brightness is something I am aware of. I've tried making it really bright, and really dim. But there are some parts in the actual movie, where the glowing is really intense, like in the tanks and in the Recognizer. Im not sure if I make it dimmer, if it will still have the same effect.
The reason I am making this, is because I love Tron. I've seen it so many times, I can say that I am somewhat knowledgeable on it. I hope I don't sound like a jerk, I just want to make it clear that I am really trying my hardest to pull this off, and do a good job.
I have finished all of the upper base of blue, now I will work on the mid sections. This includes elevator area, and spiral down to basement.
Orpheus, if you would like, try to come up with some diff glowing methods. Try to get the brightness to where you think it should be. I would really like to see other peoples attempt at the glowing. Its not hard or anything, but I really want to get that "perfect" glow effect, and think if I get some input, the final product will be great.
Thanks

Jon, I had originally posted a 81k image, but swapped it for that one because of the noticeable difference in quality. There's no use promoting image compressors when you can clearly see the difference imho. Didn't have to take yours down and I wasn't having a go at you so just calm the f**k down!!!

IMO, without anything else in that screen besides all that blue, its really tuff to say.. it looks to bright to me, just looking at the screenshot..
tron was blue-yes
tron was not brilliantly so..
if i remember correctly blue wasn't even the dominant color either.. you might consider others.
and 200k is... well i got mine down to 74. the fact that they were not bmp, is unimportant, 800+ is tho.
