Cannot download/play it now, but I know that I was here during its creation and as such should be allowed to rate it.

| No worries Orph. All good points. In all honesty I never intended it to be as big as it is, but I tend to get carried away with these things. Thanks for the critique! I may indeed try a smaller redo of this theme for the competition. |
*wipes brow*
i am so glad.. i hate being the barer of bad news, especially when so much work is obvious..
scale it down.. many places can be copy/pasted.. or areas clipped off to reduce the placers accessibility and effectively reduce the line of sight... r's will drop.

INSERT OBLIGATORY WARNING HERE:

the cratenator
THE BOSS of all crate making machinery.

the origin, and beginning destination of the cratenator..

the cratenator from a distance.. the amount of machinery IMO is phenomenally incorporated BTW

IMO, the only 3 shortfalls of this entire map are 1) texture choices, i love this set, but the map still suffers from so limited usage of them. 2) R_Speeds, there are just to many of them, and 3) scale, the map has such large areas/rooms, it is no wonder the r's are high..

this belt assembly is cool beaners, but it needs a purpose.. some reason to be up here other than the altitude advantage it obviously has.. there are no items to be found at all.

i realize the cratenator, ejects only one type of crate style, but this room would greatly appreciate some variety.. the dull grey ones are just way over done..

another example of excessive r's.. the reason is obvious, so i am not accusing TB of laziness as with many times i mention r's, but the room really stresses the ol graphics card

a glow sprite.. for??? i forgot to look from below to see if there is a light fixture here, but the sprite is still IMO to far from the wall..

some very interesting hallways architecturally speaking

you tease, a ladder to.... no place

DON'T DRINK THE WATER, diarrhea will be the least of your worries

VERY impressive

water, clipped against glass.. = yucky if you are lucky, you can fix this by putting the edge of the water, inside the glass, just stop short of the other side.

more of that outstanding machinery

more of those superb corridors.. very nice

the r's in here, really had my screen jittering
i assume it was a combination of both "E's and W's" doing it..

the path from hell.. notice the r's
.. seriously though, the path is just way to steep.. mostly due to the grand scale of the area..

looking back down, you get a better feel for the angle of the walkway..

RPG "a" needs to be on ledge "b" to the left.. heavy artillery should be a bit harder to get.. while i am thinking of it.. the gauss is just as accessible

due to the scale of the room, you see how steep the stairs needed to be.. maybe a lift would be better?

planned??? the crate hangs here every time for a few seconds..
i hate to sound so poorly about this map, especially when so damned much effort went into it, but IMO its suffers just to much on its scale.. i dunno if it was through ignorance, or design, but if the map was just half as open.. the benefits would be astronomical.. if it were my call, I'd say.. redesign it, but the work thus far.. it would be a shame to lose it all
actually.. i think someone gifted in larger than life maps might need to look this one over.. *looks pleadingly at Reno,Gollum and KFS* i think they could be much more appreciative of what it would entail to lower the r's..
nice try TB.. i hope i didn't piss you off completely..

Wow ! someones been busy
Favourite bit is the big pit with molten metal at the bottom and those 8 beams forming that dome thing, you've nailed the lighting in that area.

it seems that periodically my briefcase reassigns another URL to the links.. so to save any further headaches.. just visit the briefcase and look in the folder corresponding with this map.. the briefcase's url is never changing, so its far easier just to go that route..
thanx for your patience guys.. to be able to upload 15 meg files, its worth the extra hassle ![]()
