Snarkpit 2004 "Original theme" mapping contest entry.

This map placed joint third in the voted category despite very stiff competition. Its a <B>tad</B> too large and open for the aging HL engine, with the skybox using about 99% of the x/y grid in hammer, and most of that being taken up by a giant fully viewable volcano island. That said, it does run and can be fun with 3 or 4 people running around. Weapons and armour are dished out when you spawn as the map is pushing the engine enough as it without placing loads of items around.

Nice!Have in mind that the map it's heavy for some slower computers.

But then they would move with you, which would look somewhat odd smiley To be honest, in game the sun and clouds look pretty normal, so its not a big issue. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;And no, you can't go in the lighthouses or the walls, they are much to small to have any worthwhile internal space.

I've been watching this map since i first saw it, and for originality it scores a 10, but..i just can't get past the textures. stupid reason not to score it a 10 but its the best i got smiley

have you played the map? SO much is visible!!!! Its not reno's fault. Its just an open map. At least the wpoly does not affect FPS that much.

how come the r_speeds are so high?

i think the map totally rocks. just i seen the r_speed count and i was like woahhhhhhhhhhh

Ill admit that its superior work well done by reno i believe he will most likely win the competition good look reno and good luck everyone else

RAD only took about half an hour actually forceflow - running with a chop of 256 No point having detailed lighting if there aren't any shadows in the map!
