.rmf files compress like crazy, my 13MB .rmf is 600kb zipped, easy to fit on a floppy even. [addsig]

If only D: It appears that all my maps, since they're on computers used by my whole family, are doomed to death by reformat. Fool's Paradise, my old DoD map, now even Ribcage and Zombie - they're all lost to broken harddrives D: |
1st off, thats a crock of s**t cass.. the rmf and map are just to small to not have a backup copy uploaded someplace safe.. a bit of forethought could have solved your problem. most especially since you knew the likelihood was pretty high.
if you lose another map, you have only yourself to blame.

You might still be able to get things like maps back after formating the drive, provided you didn't change the filesystem. If you have just reinstalled windows, then it shouldn't have overwritten the place where your maps were, since windows will have been at the start of the drvice before the format. Get some NTFS recovery program, and it will be able to find a bunch of old files on your drive, a lot of which will be 100% recoverable.

That's why people invented CD-RWs and drives that write to 'em.
