Polluted Coast

The Snarkpit Mapping Competition Entry for 2006

Description:
 This is my only entry in this years Snarkpit Mapping competition. I know it's not very
pretty and the texture choices aren't the best one out there. I lost a couple of weeks of
quality mapping time due to some real life issues. Damn thing keeps interfering with my
hobbies. ;)
 The map itself was supposed to be a bit of polluted coastline somewhere. I wanted to add
more custom textures and couple of models as well as a custom skybox(I'm rendering something
that might work while I'm writing this), but as always there simply wasn't enough time for
the goodies. Enjoy the grass though. ;)

How to install: Unpack the polluted_coast.zip to your Half-Life directory, it should put
		everything in right places. In case this doesn't work here are the paths
		and locations for the files:
		polluted_coast.bsp - Half-Life\valve\maps\
		polluted_coast.txt - Half-Life\valve\maps\
		a_**.tga	   - Half-Life\valve\gfx\env\

Useless trivia:
Time to build: Roughly a month on and off. Ran out of time with this one. :(

Custom resources used:	1 custom grass texture.
		 	custom skybox

Known problems:
		Skybox doesn't align. :) I just noticed this and it's too late to fix it now.
		You can get stuck in some places. Shouldn't be that much of a problem as it is
		still only a concept map.

Compile times:
CSG: 19.39 seconds
BSP: 39.94s
VIS(-fast, refused to compile on other settings): 19.03s
RAD(-sparse -extra -lights): 19min 50s
Compile machine: AMD Athlon XP 3000+(2,17GHz), 1024MB RAM(ddr 400mhz)
