This tutorial assumes that you already know how to make basic arches including ceilings.

So, you want a beautiful arch roofed tunnel with turns and twists and all of that? Well here I'm going to teach you how to use the arch tool to make curved tunnel ceilings the "right way". After reviewing my method from quite a while ago, I've decided to redo this tutorial in hopes of making it look better.

1. Create an arch just like you usually do, by using the arch tool. I'm not going to go into specifics here since you should already know how to make an arch. You can fix all the arches vertices to get them onto the grid if you want, but for this tutorial, it won't be necessary. I made an arch that was 128 x 128, with a wall width of 32, and 12 sides (soon to be cut in half to make a ceiling).

2. Copy the first arch you've made, and rotate it 90 degrees, while moving it equidistantly from the other arch. I chose a distance of 32 units. When you're done you should have something that looks similar to the image below.

3. Make another copy of each arch, and extend them both to the center of where the arches meet.

4. Select one of the arches, and use the skewing tool to drag the outer edge of the arch, to the end of the other. To access the skewing tool, just click the brush in one of the 2d views two times, you will see that the drag handles have moved. When you're done you should have something that looks like the image below.

5. Do the same with the other arch by dragging it towards the center as well. After you're done with that, you should have both arches connected and looking like the image below.

6. Select one of the transformed arches, and cut it at a 45 degree angle, deleting the inner edge of the arch.

The final product will be a clean cut 90 degree turn. This method can also be used to make 45 and 180 degree turns quite easily.

Thanks to Sinner_D for his pipeworks tutorial, which has alot in common with this tut. Some people may or may have not been able to connect the pieces, but just in case... there's your tutorial.
