People

Ant - A fairly strange Aussie lad, his taste in music is usually fairly decent; he also maps for things, though the only ones I ever hear about are for TWHL competitions.

Campaignjunkie - CJ's an amusingly sexy character and a mediocre (if prolific) mapper to boot.

kol - A disturbingly insane person who makes quality maps.

RabidMonkey - Rabid rocks out to punk music while working on whatever map he's working on: probably something cool for BM:S.

Trapt - Well, he did rip off Rabid's site, and he did get hosting from the same place I did a day after I did, but he linked to me.

Places

Black Mesa: Source - A remake of HL1 for HL2, it looks incredibly promising already and they've just recently started.

Nightwatch - Black Mesa with better textures, lighting, and architecture (in that order). Allies using shotguns sounds nice, too.

Starlabs - A well-designed HL1 mod set in Black Mesa that I've created some inferior skins for.

The Snarkpit - This conclave of friendly yet elite Half-Life mappers has also gotten new hosting due to the fact that their old hosting was horrid.

VERC Collective - The official Half-Life development page, it features many newbie tutorials alongside the more advanced mapping/programming articles.

Other

The Perry Bible Fellowship - A comic that's actually funny.

Soulseek - Probably the best P2P program if you're like me and mainly download music.

SongMeanings - The lyrics site I go to because A) it doesn't have pop-ups and B) it has tons of songs.
