Just my two cents........

I, for one, appreciate what Tommy has done with "repacking" some of these maps with the million extra textures. I have never understood why map authors don't take the extra time to release one .bsp file, with textures imbedded. As a server operator that runs three HL servers, it is a royal pain in the *** to lay out all these files so the client can upload accurately. Some mappers forget to include .res files, others have the unzip procedure place the files in the wrong locations! Maybe I am wrong, but isn't the purpose of spending all these hours making maps so that you can really see how your "work" performs in a server with 12-14 playters on it? Or, do we just want to look at the visuals and say, wow, what a great map? So, getting these maps on a public server would seem to be a high priority.

So, assuming he is getting permission, which it seems he is, I thank him for his service and agree with snowforskate 100%
