Hey guys.
For my current level design project, Courtyard (my entry to Snarkpit's vista competition) I would like to create some advertisements. However since I'm running pretty thin on ideas, I thought this could be a good opportunity to open it up and give people here an opportunity to create some advertisement textures which could be used. If you're interested keep reading.
I'm looking for advertisement textures for vertical display monitors in the level. At the moment I have two of these monitors in the interior but I'm considering making a third and I will put some in the exterior space (vista) later on.
Here are some details:
The size of the monitor in hammer units is 56 x 112 so I would like the advertisements to be 448 x 896 pixels so they look nice and high res in game. Since Source likes the texture dimensions to be even, you will have to put the advertisement texture ontop of a black 512 x 1024 background, this means that the final texture should be 512 x 1024 but the advertisement will be 448 x 896.
The advertisement can be about anything, food product, service, entertainment product etc etc. Keep in mind the level is set about 50-100 years in the future so you may want the advertisement to reflect this or at least don't make a retro looking advertisement unless it's part of the advertisement.
I would prefer if the advertisement is entirely fictional so please avoid the use of real world products or people or places but there is leeway regarding the use of real world names.
The advertisements are supposed to be clean so avoid the use of grunge or making them look dirty/damaged unless that's part of the advertisement.
And the advertisements will be using the unlitgeneric shader so they will appear full bright like the place holder advertisement in the above pic.
If you want to submit an advertisement texture to me, please email me
(aarondakilla@gmail.com) the psd or the advertisement in png format or you can provide a download link to it here. Also be sure to post a jpg version here so peeps can take a look.
I'm looking for the two best/most ideal ones and remember that there will be more of these vertical monitors in the level later on.
Thanks in advanced!
