I will state the obvious to start off this review. This is a very small map. Very small. There is a small main room with two floors and a water pit. There are two ladders and two sets of stairs allowing movement from the first floor to the second floor. That's all there is to see in this map. As you can tell if you take a look at the column to the right, there weren't many great screenshot taking opportunities.

Texturing and lighting are both very boring. There is very little difference between wall and floor textures, and all are a dull gray. Lighting is very simple, with each area having equal levels of bright white light. This is not a map to open and stare at for ten minutes.

R_speeds are one of the better parts of this map, and any computer that meets the minimum requirements for Half-Life shouldn't encounter problems. Wpoly counts are usually below 500 and never go above the mid 600s. Although these are good, with the lack of detail and complex architecture I think they should have been much lower.

This map would suit one on one very well, and should be able to handle three or four players too. However, if you try to cram anymore than four people in this map things will get quite chaotic. As a first map it shows promise. No textures are misaligned, most of the big weapons were left out, and nothing is absolutely horrible. I hope I can find some more maps by this author in my inbox or on other mapping sites.

Verdict

Designed for 2 players, but I think none would be best.
