I'm a dreadfully scummy person that hasn't yet released any of his own maps, but has no qualms about releasing a
map decompiler called VMEX that lets people steal other people's work.
I've also written
Pakrat, a more user-friendly replacement for bspzip, that allows you to embed textures and models into bsp files, and
Entspy, an entity viewer/editor for maps.
All of these programs require
Java, my current programming language of choice, simply because it's easy to write for (despite certain bad or lacking features). I would reprogram them in C++, but I hate writing Windows code, especially for GUIs.
I'm from the UK but currently live in Tucson, AZ, where it's nice and sunny.
