In my review of <!-- BBCode u2 Start -->Templecore<!-- BBCode u2 End -->, another one of Jussi's maps, I commented that "Jussi should have just trashed the cliff and temple maps and released the lab section by itself." This map is an extension of the lab area I was talking about, and the results are great. I didn't load Templecore up to check how much was reused, but I recognized one room.

The map is medium-sized, although it seems much smaller when you're playing. You should be able to have the layout figured out after only a few minutes of playing. There aren't many large open areas, it's mostly tight rooms and corridors. The architecture is quite impressive - every room is filled to the brim with detail. Even with all of the details, I only found two spots where the wpoly was over 600, so r_speeds are no problem at all.

Lighting was fine. Most of the map was lit brightly in white, but there were some spots with blue or green tints. Weapon placement was sufficient, with some of the weapons being placed in strange looking secret spots you can get to by breaking panels in the wall. I found two secret locations, but there may have been more. You can see the entrance to one of them in the third screenshot.

Overall Zeroceromon is a fun close combat map to play and look at. If you don't download it you are missing out on one of the best lab-style custom maps I've seen. If you like Datacore, you will definitely like this map.

Verdict

Overall Zeroceromon is a fun close combat map to play and look at. If you like Datacore, you will definitely like this map.
