Hello All! My apologies if this is the wrong board.. Help Wanted Board isnt here anymore it would seem .. My apologies also if this is a bit long :smile: . I wanted to give you guys as much information as i could!

Im the project lead of Project Genesis - A Single-Player Half Life Mod that has been in production for over a year. You can find the site @ http://pg.psilon.net

[size=13]What is it about?
Project Genesis follows the story of a military agent - Jason Benson. He finds himself lying in the carpark of a research centre called ASAB. He is surrounded by the bodies of several dead. He has no memory of his past, where he is or what he is doing here. He enters the Research Center where he is quickly embroiled in a three front war between the military, mutants and a rebelling science faculty. As the player progresses through the mod, they find out more about the previous events that happened at ASAB, aswell as what Jason's roll was meant to be in it all.

Weaponry
In Project Genesis, the player will have ALOT of weapons, ranging from military and security equipment, to makeshift melee weapons to high powered experimental weaponry and energy weapons... and alot of explosives :wink: . The Player won't be able to use all these weapons, you will have to choose which ones to lug around with you.

Prologue
Jason woke up, pain instantly searing in several parts of his body. He got out of the snow. Dazed and confused he looked around. He was in in a carpark of sorts, snow covered the ground. He winced before a biting cold wind, stinging his face. He reached and tenderly touched his head. It came away red. There were several men covered in snow but laying motionless. Who am I? he thought suddenly, panick rising up. Where am I? These questions tumbled around in his head, the answers a step too far. He shook his head and stumbled in towards the shelter of the building. He found a door and walked through it, approaching the lobby desk. He saw the sign ... ASAB Research Centre.

What makes this mod special?
I think is the complete replacement of all weapons. Diving, new hi-res textures, a particle engine for advanced effects, VGUI Journals that enhance the story, Inventories to add an element of tactics to the mod. Most of all is the story, enhanced by Voice Recordings and the Journal, which will immerse the player in the new world. We are attempting to reach an extremely high level of "freeform" gaming. The player can choose how to overcome obstacles, and a third way through the game, the story actually splits, forcing the player to choose between two paths. With the primary objectives and, obviously, the maps seperating into two paths after this choice.

What level themes?
Office sections, labs, warehouses, some outdoor areas, lobbies, testing rooms, containment chambers, breeding hives, feeding areas and interrogation cells. Environments will also differ with the wartorn areas, where frequent skirmishes occur between the three powers. The outdoor areas are heavily snowed down. It is an underground facility, but there are outdoor sections aswell. The player does not have any real allies that fight along side him.

We are in great need of team-members in the following areas.

Mapping - 4-6 Positions - You will have a custom textures WAD, aswell as the HL wad to use. You will be provided with a Design Document Detailing what the map will contain, its theme etc. Multiplayer Mappers also give me a hoy..

Skinning - 4-6 Positions - Basically all the models in our media suite need to be skinned. These projects will be divided over the 2D Design Team. We need so many because we will need to skin the NPC Models aswell.

NPC Modellers - 4 Positions - Around 4 NPC Projects. They will all be mutant animal models. You will be provided with Concept Sketches.

Programmers - 2 Positions - A Host of VGUI Projects like Journals, Message Displays and RPG-Style Conversations.

Sound FX - 3 Positions - We require a few Sound FX Designers to produce Gun shot, Reloading, Holstering and Drawing Sound FX for around 14 Weapons.

HUD Artist - 1 Position - We need a HUD Artist to design a HUD Concept Art can be provided.

nicely presented, Though your gonna have allot of trouble finidng people for hl1 with hl2 so close.

Thanks for the comments guys :smile: And, no it isnt a map prop. You think it an unlikely weapon? I don't want to give anything away..but it might have other uses, yes?
