Hi all,
For anyone converting HL1 maps to HL2 / CS:S, you may find some of your doors not being lit properly, no matter how you place, tweak, and re-place the lights. This appears to be a bug.
The way to fix the "unlit door" problem is simple. Click on the func_door or func_door_rotating entities and turn them back into regular brushes (via the "to world" button). Then make each one of them back into func_door or func_door_rotating entities with the "to entity" button. This seems to fix the problem. After re-compiling, your doors should receive lighting properly.
I didn't find this problem / solution in any searches I've done, so I decided to post it here. I think it is important... if people don't know it's a bug, they'll waste hours trying to fix the door lighting through normal means.
