hey, i started using Hammer, and today when i opened up Hammer, a
"Fatal Error" box popped up saying that it couldn't find the
"editor/wireframe" and it told me to check the game directory to make
sure it is correct, well it was, so now i am completely confused.
I clicked ok on the box, and everything seemed ok, until i created a
camera. It wouldn't show anything in the camera view. Now
it could have been that i just screwed up with creating the camera, cus
it was the first time i did it. but maybe it has something to do with
the editor/wireframe. anyone have any info on this?

I'm not sure if this will work for you but I just started getting that
same error today. What I ended up doing was go to
the support section at www.steampowered.com
and use their GCF verifying ... thing on both HL2 SP and the
SDK as well (I only did it on HL2 Single Player because that's what I
was working on). Once that was done I ran HL2 Single-Player (since
that's what I was working with) to make sure everything I had was up to
date, and then ran the SDK - everything worked fine.

It may not work for you but it will get rid of any corruptions by
deleting the bad files. It won't re-download them or fix them,
that's why you run HL2, HL2DM, CSS, which ever it is you're editing, to
get the files that were deleted.

Once you run the SDK again, it should get any of those files that were
deleted as well. Again, this worked for me so I hope it helps.
