I read a bit from 69thVlatitude about starting SourceSDK without
being logged into STEAM from a desktop shortcut. The bit mentioned how
it saved tons of resources and helped to prevent SourceSDK from
crashing (of which I am having a massive problem with, but not ready to
post about it yet). I tried it out and it failed, which isn't
surprising if you know Valve.
I am wondering if it is possible to start and run the SourceSDK from a desktop shortcut without logging into STEAM?
Any help with this would be appreciated!

It's not possible without having Steam running - As the program is integrated into Steam, it won't launch without the Steam service running for it.
You can create a shortcut directly to Hammer in sourcesdk\bin, though, which will save you from running the SDK Launcher.
