I couldn't quite find the answer i was looking for in the other threads.

How do you implement the already existing mp3 songs from the hl2 singleplayer, into your hl2 singleplayer map? ambient generic doesn't seem to support mp3 files.

You could convert the mp3's into the right file extension.

well if you place an ambient generic, then select the sound via sound browser, and search for the music files, youll find all of em in mp3 format. but then if u try to preview the sound, nothing happens. same deal if you actually set it to the ambient generic. Then when u play nothing happens. I assume it has something to do with soundscapes which i have no clue how to customize.

oh and I made a folder in the hl2/sounds folder for the wav files but couldn't locate the sounds.

The mp3 sounds will work if you use them with your ambient_generic, you just can't preview them in hammer. Make sure you have something trigger it or check the "start on" flag. Oh, and check the "play everywhere" flag as well.

oh thanks, yeah, all i needed was something to trigger it to turn on so i used logic_auto and it worked. Otherwise it didn't work.
