Ok I got a new HD today and I dunno what way I setup the second jumper
its like this .... how do i setup the jumper for a second HD...?

As far as I know there is no standard for hd jumpers so you will have
to look on the hd and look for a chart. You will most likely want
to set it to slave (assuming your old one is set to master).
Failing that you can always guess and check.
Also be sure to use the same IDE ribbon as your old hd and put this one at the end of
the ribbon.

That link you sent me doesnt help because I have a WD SATA 80 GB caviar SE HD........it is an 8-pin drive.

Well, then the "slave" setting is the two vertical pins second from the right. (It should say this on top of the drive with the label)
If you're having other problems it may be because you're mixing SATA with PATA. I don't know, you haven't given much information.
By the way, just try it. It'll be a vertical connection, so, you only have to try four times to figure out the right one. It wont hurt anything, if that's what you're thinking. All jumpers do is complete a connection.

He aimed me and it's fixed now. Turned out he not only didn't have the drives "jumped" properly, but the board had RAID enabled, which wasn't set up.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
