I take your point, Rival, but that wasn't my intention at all. What I said was said tongue-in-cheek, I was hoping to generate a bit of good natured banter back and forth - which I enjoy - as does Agent Smith it seems.
The trouble with communicating in print is that the tone of a statement can be mis-interpreted. I'm fairly certain that I wouldn't have offended anyone if they had heard what I said.

understandable my apologies!

Well, I grew up (as an American) playing soccer, and as an adolescent played basketball

And about the whole football/baseball thing... try actually going to the arena and watching it, it looses alot over the tele

You know I do  !

I think the problem with sport related threads is that it brings the sport rage out in some people, like SuperCobra who's been slagging off everyone who doesn't play sport.

I don't mind sport, but I'm generally not that great a fan, particularly of contact sports like football and rugby because of the meat head nature of them and the players. I'm more interested in obscure sports and swimming, but damn if watching them isn't boring  .

American foot ball is called grid iron, which is really annoying, in the fact that the method of scoring is called a touchdown, when they don't even actually put the ball down, like in Rugby-Union/League (Australian/English).

Not sure if I've said this here before, but pro table tennis is awesome to watch.
