I have the same problem on my HL2DM match......Then a pop-up box comes up and says "The command failed. Windows reported the error:<br style="color: gold; font-family: courier new;">

"The system cannot find the file specified."" with yes or no buttons to press.

Well, first off, you have a compile error.

You have an overlay overlapping too many surfaces (6) somewhere, or too many overlays on one face.
Fix that first.

Otherwise, I've noticed that while the BSP compiler has little trouble with unique vmf paths ... the other compiers do. It wouldn't hurt to try saving the vmf under /sourcesdk/bin (the location of hammer and all the compile tools)

But, I know you can make custom paths, I bet you have something in the compile command that is messing with the location.

In any case you can always call the compile tools manually without hammer!
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
