I have a
series of flammable barrels that need to explode in conjunction, as a
trap that someone can set off periodically. The problem is, the barrels
are released and set on fire via a func_breakable_surf entity, which
produces enough gibs on its own. When these barrels are lit on fire or
explode and the glass gibs are visible, performance goes down to
unacceptable levels.
Is there a way to turn gibs/debris off for
the flammable barrels completely (setting Performance Mode to Limit
Gibs is not doing the trick with either the glass or the barrels), or
would I have to make a separate model?

<span style="color: white;">That option is not there. Only options available are Normal, Limit Gibs, and Full Gibs on All Platforms.
