There was a set of videos posted maybe a week ago that had a bunch of episode 2 videos and a tf2 video. The TF2 video sucked htough... it was all shaky and stuff...

Looking good. The E2 trailer doesn't show as much as the youtube videos but it's definitely quality stuff. A bit too much of the old enemies (antlions) but the look and feel of it is much more Half-Lifey than most of the 1984-style HL2.

TF2 trailer is what we've seen earlier but in high-res. I can't get used to the muzzleflashes (they look plain bad) but the whole concept is great. I hope the spy can still disguise as the enemy team. Cloaking alone doesn't seem as original.

I absolutely love the muzzle flashes. It just adds to the whole theme. I'm really proud of Valve for going out on the limb like this, and I think it's going to work out really well with the majority.

And I believe the spy can disguise, but that isn't the final cloaking effect. They really were pushing to get this video out, so a lot of it is a) scripted or b) post-rendered. The cloaking was added after the video was shot, as well as a few other effects.

I love the animation style, reminds me of Full Throttle.

I'll get used to the spiky muzzle flashes (if I have to). The whole art direction is what the FPS genre needed for a long time. A step back from being a slave to "realism".

There's a diff video which shows the flame-thrower. It looks pretty nice. Just look on Youtube.

Reinstall the codec. I assume you're talking about windows media player, also. There's tons of places that can fix it up. Try taking a look around free-codecs.com
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I'm using the default steam player, but I'm going to try divx, vlc, and windows media player now.

Edit: It worked with both divx player and vlc player, but not with windows media.

Windows Media Player is what Steam uses, it requires at least version 9 ... so you need the wmv codecs from version 9 ... this might help.
