I imagine it would display 3D images if each projector was projecting video taken from a different angle relative to the other projections.
I'm not entirely sure what makes the light stop, however.
Right now, we're making "3D video" by simulating depth perception by projecting two images on top of each other. You still need glasses for that to work, however, so each eye can only see one angle. If you just look at the image it will be blurred and there'd be traces of blue and red on either side.
I think this thing is more for company advertising than anything. I could see many companies putting this system on a roof and advertising, for example.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
