I have a very simple env_beam (a blue beam of electricity) and it shows up nicely and all, only that it often shines through walls. I see it from the front, then move around a corner and can still see the whole beam shining right through the wall.

I noticed that even when I turn off the HUD for screenshot making the beam isn't drawn. Like it's rendered as a HUD effect rather than in the 3D game world and always is drawn as a whole no matter whether parts are blocked by brushes or not.

Does anyone know if there is a setting or something I could try? It's rather weird.
Why snark works.

In case anyone cares: You have to make the texture an "*.spr" file, not a vmt or anything.
