I just downloaded VHE 3.4 from Snarkpit and I think their might be something buggy abouts it. If anyone wants to double check.

Installing is no prob, but loading it up takes eternity (yet I listen to music and it dosent skip). It still takes time even if I dont do anything else.

Once in, loading a map takes a while as well. Then I get the occasional lag when running around in tex 3D view.

After a few times of saving, I get a nice error saying that either the drive is full or that the file location is incorrect yet half my drive is empty (a whoping 9 gigs  ) and the file path IS correct. Go figure.

I have rebooted, defraged, and reinstalled but always the same.

Either its my comp-uter or the version we have is br0ked.

Couldn't you try downloading it from somewhere else?

Is you HD partitioned? The one with VHE on might have little space left. Have you had any lag with any other programs recently, or have you installed any other programs around the same time. VHE takes lots of resources, maybe you've got something that's sapping resources for a long time now, but you haven't run anything heavy enough to notice? Virus scanners, e-mail checkers, any task programs like UD. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and see if you've got loads of useless stuff running every time you boot your machine. I suppose you could run Ad-Aware and SpyBot. If you still get problems, redownload Hammer from somewhere else. I got mine off the site I think and it's working fine.
Also - have you changed and of your computer components recently? Maybe one of them in underperforming or you're getting compatability problems.

If it still doesn't work, I'm stumped.

Some things can change when the computer is turned off, but don't change when it is just rebooted. I can't see why though, and I can't remember what it was, but it happened once.

Gah, its still buggy  I thought that perhaps my comp was overheating but I took off the cover and not only was it not too teribly warm but the cover has remained off and I still get the problem.

I dont partition the disk, nor have anything else running at the same time. And I can do much more demanding things without a problem..

...Click the mouse when the Hammer logo comes up, instead of waiting?

I dunno.

One time that happened with me. Finally I realized that the selection (between mod entities or whatever) was behind the loading pic and once I clicked Half-life, it finished loading fine.

I'm pretty sure that's not what your problem is, just sharing my stupidity.

The cover should be on at all times it actually helps with airflow and cooling
