Really nice map, we played it yesterday in VTFL, and it was great fun. Ramp is not easy to defend, tho, with all those medics concing over your head.

I wuv the eagle, too.

I've played this map several times in TFC leagues, and still think it's one of the best custom maps for that mod ever made.

Let's start off with the graphical aspect of the map. Everything is just finished. The textures look sharp, impressive rockwork in the yard, subtile lighting in the map's corridors and flagrooms, and even great detail like an eagle circling over your head while you cross the yard. The spawn rooms are also quite detailed, with some cool lighting effects, yet short enough to get back into the action in a couple of seconds.

Like I said, this map is meant for clanplay, you will not really enjoy it on publics. The map's quite large, and offense guys will find it a long journey to get to the enemy base when they haven't learned how to conc. Talking about concing, our good friend GeEniE finally did what most mappers don't really think of: he put the skybox high enough, so it doesn't ruin the concs. (and who doesn't like flying all the way to the enemy base ?)

About the gameplay, then. A lot of thinking has gone into this map, but I've still got a few - minor - remarks. The ramp, for example, is very hard to defend, it's pretty offense-oriented. Scouts and Medics can conc all way to the top easily, and slide down with the flag really fast. The flagroom has some nasty corners for engineers to put their sg's in, but - as said - when the flag is taken, the rampslide gets the thief down pretty fast.

Verdict

A map well worth a place in the major TFC Leagues. Great design & atmosphere.
