Best suited for 6-16 players.

MODE D'EMPLOI: Unzip the file "dm_richs_apt.bsp" to your
"half-life 2 deathmatchhl2mpmaps" directory.

FEATURES:
  • A 4 unit apartment building for great close-quarters combat.
  • A laundry building and an open street area for when you need to get some air.
  • Secret passages between all four apartments! Hidden murder holes!
  • Hidden locations that arent hard to find, but may give you an edge if you
bother to use them.

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • The buggy will not appear on dedicated servers without installing a
vehicle patch, but this is not a problem with my map in particular.

Is this really your apartment?
Yeah, kinda. I haven't made a map since Doom 2, so when I felt inspired to
learn 3d mapping, I decided to start by creating the inside of my apartment.
When I made the map bigger, I recreated the design of my neighboring apts,
and created an exterior. After playtesting this on my server for a while, I
made a few adjustments, cleaned it up, and a few versions later I have a
working deathmatch level thats lots of fun to play, and happens to bear a
striking resemblance to a low-rent apartment complex in Iowa City, IA.

I'd like to thank you for downloading my map - I hope you enjoy it just as
much as I enjoyed making it. This is a fun map to explore, and a great
deathmatch level. There's something here for everybody, you just have to
search it out.

I made this map in a few hours with the specific goal of making a quick
and effective kill or be killed deathmatch level. There is no fun in
this level without death. Yeah - its small. Its a small boring cube.
But its pretty, and it plays well enough. If you want a tiny map that
will rack up the kills quickly, you can't do much better than this.

A HL2DM map for 2-4 players.

I was inspired to create a small deserted island type map after seeing this map. I still need to change the angle and color of the lighting, add an env_sun, add weapons, add some prop_physics to toss about, add trigger_hurts, and add another tree or two.

As you know, dm_haul died when my secondary HDD decided to bite the dust in a rather unceremonious way.

So this here is the Frankenstein of all maps, made out of bits from every other test map I've ever made up to date. It?s axed around a semi-abandoned naval yard in an undetermined place in Eastern Europe at the end of the quick war between Earth and the Combine.

Lots of special stuff in there like a useabale bomb that you can pick-up with the gravgun and even a secret room.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch DM_Chaos

This map is very good in connectivity, the use of shotguns, 357s, and saw blades add more fear while playing it. The lighting is fair; you will never require the use of a flashlight while playing this map and not be blinded or lost in the shadows. The textures are kept simple, and the map design is complex, I've gotten very nice comments about this map from everyone that has played it, the only downright nasty comments this map has gotten from people that neglected to download it, and feel to rate it by its appearance. Sorry if I believe in making a fun map instead of a laggy map which is colossal, this map is beautiful in design, it doesn't need some add of 600kb rubble to make it more appealing. Download it and try it, three or more people really makes this lag-less map fun.

Take my word and try the map. Soon I'll be releasing a more flawless form of the map by the name "dm_chaotic".

K so, here is my first map that I am finally brave enough to put on snark pit, Ive made about 10 others that are ok, some well made but not good enough for this place. Anyways, this is just a Dallas Cowboys rat themed map, I decided to make this map because this is my favorite football team and I thought the blue would look cool in a rat styled map. Hello

I have been mapping for a month or so, gotten quite a lot of feedback about my mapping, and it was mostly "Practise your Brushwork please!!1", so i did. 18 hours straight i mapped on this, and then a couple more hours the day after. The map is pretty much finished, just need to tweak physics object and lightning, maybe some details too.
Tell me what you think, and i hope that my first map won't be crap :)

Known bugs &/OR issues

Cubemaps refuse to work properly
Skylight looks weird
Minor leak holes (But there aint a leak in the compile)
Some textures have misaligned themselves
Some textures have rezised themselves and won't change (the window for example)

TO DO:

Fix the skylight
The minor leak holes shall be fixed
The misaligned textures will be fixed
Making some more interresting geometry
Tweaking light, ALOT
More balancing

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dm_colossus

This is a map I have been working on here and there for alittle bit. Im still a novice when it comes to map making and i really struggle with good lighting. The original idea for the map was a throw back to the original Halo without remaking one of their maps. I use alot of incline plains and the map is in essance semetrical. I took the jump pad idea from Halo 2 and built a small map with some interesting look and quick acces to any part of the map relatively quickly. Hope you enjoy it. All constructive criticism is welcome.

I recently added more geometry to the greater hallways (pillars) to help add cover in such vulnerable areas. All I have to do now is a little more work on the Geometry of the map. To help seperate the feeling of each sides. So the player knows where they are at at all times. Then I will work on the most dreaded part of my map making experience... the lighting. Then I will work on tactial geometry (places in the map that allow the players movement from one area to the next in a non orthadox way ussually requiring skill) and then system optimization.
