My first & only TFC map. Private Ryan must escape from the town to the escape craft waiting on the beach, with Allied and Axis teams fighting over him. Also comes with sub-objectives.

I've tried a massive scale rope bridge across gm_construct level... 88 doors ball & socket together.
I could only run so far before one of the doors would glitch out and knock me in the air.
Couldn't see anything like this working for a map. So came up with the prop_physics idea.

In gmod terms i think the rope will need to be "rigid". i dont know though, and then it depends on how much it "hangs" if we stretch it a bit it might work :P
I remember seeing a physics type ropebridge not long after hl2 was released. It had major problems with forces causing a chain reaction that ended up with the bridge dancing around uncontrolably.
And that was only a single platform held with a rope at each corner, so the forces and reactions happening with something made up of a series of these planks would probably give something other than the desired effect.
Ok so far I have the rope, and it sways nicely.. I have the wooden planks.. I think the planks need to be physboxes.. but I am not sure what to do next. I want to get this right so I can upload it as a tutorial.. can someone tell me what to do with the wood planks.

i think it would be cooelr fi you made the ropebridge in hammer, with func_physbox and ropes,
i've never used ropes but id love to give it a try, lol
