Is this a joke? This map is so mind numbingly bad that I can't imagine it being anything else but... if it's not, then I seriously suggest the author goes have a look at some other levels, before releasing their first attempts. Just sit there and look at these other maps. Notice that they have structure, they have textures applied to them to give them some kind of theme, with architecture to go with it, they're not random floating Lego-esque constructions. Also notice how none of them included their RMF/MAP/MAX/LOG/WIC/PRT etc. etc. files in their ZIPs- you only need a BSP and a readme. At least he included those files correctly (to my horror).
Quite frankly, this map is some kind of 'anti-map', going against everything we believe in. It's a random collection of walls with a metallic, tiling 'babtech' texture all over it. There's random gaps in these walls, and the only texture that's been aligned is the sand in the vast, empty, pointless expanse of ground that exists below this floating monstrosity, but only because you can't physically misalign it. These walls make up "rooms" (that word used in it's loosest possible sense), and the whole thing floats in the middle of the air, looking like some deranged modern art sculpture gone horribly wrong.
Uhhh... weapon placement is 2 hornet guns near some other weapons, with powerful ones above it. I suppose the whole point in this map is some kind of "king of the castle/hill" type thing, where you have to stay on top with the RPG, but quite frankly I couldn't be bothered to do this, preferring to pick off mindless bots with the hornetgun for the 2 minutes I actually played it.
The readme states; "You may distribute this at your leisure over free servers, preferably not place like FilePlanet where they slap you in a waiting line. You may NOT make money off this, if you do I will hurt you bad with a crowbar." I will distribute it, but it won't be at my leisure. Oh no, I'm breaking his 'license agreement,' quick, call the Police! And how is it possible to make money from this? Is there something I'm missing here? Obviously if there is, it must be very subtle and groundbreaking, because what I saw was appalling. One step down from a killbox, I'm afraid.
Design
Dreadful in every way conceivable
Gameplay
Blatant hornetgun fight
Verdict
"Quap" is what's meant/intended/achieved. Ho ho.
