Very true, very true. Sounds are one of those things that when added, can make a big difference between maps. And for a game like CS, I think they're a pretty big deal for letting know where you are to the other team, and will make you re-think your strategy a bit.

Ahh never mind then.

It does look good though, it may make me go back and install old CS and check it out...

Wow, this map is pretty nice! It's been a while since I've played a CS map, but this map exceeded those fond memories. This map had very nice visuals and 'atmosphere.' There are more things going on in this map than in your average counter-strike 1.6 map. Everything from the custom skybox, to the rain and fog effects, really brings it all together without too much distraction.

The layout seems fine and dandy, but nothing like a good playtest or two to round that out, if it indeed needs rounding out. Maybe a few concerns would be for some of the open 'corridors' leading around some of the buildings. Except for about 1 crate or so, those corridors are pretty bare. Perhaps more explainable cover should be placed there. There's also an open overhead gate with a stop arm in front of it, -I think this needs to have something else in the way, or perhaps move the stop arm closer to it so that the player cannot get around it to discover the 'invisible wall' there preventing them from getting inside that building. Was there a reason why the doors didn't make any sounds? -It just caught me off-guard. Also, that's the one thing this map is lacking, and that would be for a nice atmospheric rain storm sound. I think it would add 2x more emphasis into the map. Increase that awesome factor.

Other than that, I believe this map was really well done; it looks like it was given a good deal of thought to, and by someone with experience. I also like the light halos -nice touch.

Looks like a really well design map. :hee:
