I installed the XSI Mod Tool 4.2 and when I click on the shortcut to the program a command prompt type window with nothing in it appears for a split second. After that nothing happens. Things I've tried:

Changed resolution to 1280x1024, same result.

My graphics card is a Radeon 9200. The computer is running XP with service pack 2, 3.19 GHz, 1.5 GB of Ram.

Disabled virus protection and internet connection.

Disabled windowblinds.

Reinstalled newest graphics card drivers.

Is there anything else I should try? Is my graphics card too old? It runs many other 3d authoring programs without problems.

Welcome to the club
I thought I was the only one experiencing these problems. See THIS (not very productive) thread.

I'm now using Blender, a freeware, but feature-loaded program that allows working very professionally with same ore better results than XSI. It's a bit harder to get used to it though. I plan on writing a little tutorial myself until then try this link:

But you don't have to give up on XSI yet, this is just so you know that there's an alternative! If you find a way to start XSI then please tell us.
