After dm_3006 I wanted to work on something small. I already had the layout for this in the back of my head for a while but finally started to sketch it out with dev-textures. It's easy to playtest a 300kb map for 2-4 players so layout-wise I'm quite happy with this. There's no RPG, some interesting angles and a rather smooth flow so far. Give it a try and tell me what you think!

This never happened to me before but I started this map without a theme in mind. It will likely be something oldschool/idustrial but I have no fixed plans. If you have an idea, I'd love to hear it.

Hopefully this one won't take so long to finish. I'm aiming for a spring/summer release.

yep, seems fun with the upper rooms that give out on the main rooms and are connected with ledges. my only fear at this point is that some of the ledges might be a bit narrow. also i would personally prefer a bit more rounded forms and less 90? angles, but that's up to you.

The thin ledges I think you're referring to are a tribute to HL1. I don't know how to explain it... but I really like them being so thin. They're not part of the core gameflow but more something to try when you look for a little challenge. I like elements like this.

About the 90? angles... I doubt they'll go but, again, I have no final plans for a theme or decorative details. I'm very open to any ideas on this part.

You can fix the potential problems that come from those ledges by adding pipes along the edges, that will give them a function, and it will eliminate any ugly 90 degree angles. They'll still be there, you just won't think of them as ugly.

IRT map
Looks functional, I just don't like the power up placement.
Also change the texture of the dock. Docks are rarely tile. -Facepunch
