Might I suggest you create yourself a FileFront account for permanent file hosting. Its free and you can upload as much as you want as long as each file is under 1gb and it takes less than 10 hours to upload. It also tracks how much each file has been downloaded.

RapidShare is a bit of an annoyance because you have to click on a few things and wait for a time period before you can download the file. I think RapidShare is better for temporary hosting and even than, Sendspace is better for temporary file hosting.
