Does seem very open but that could be fun. Nice use of lighting, it does seem very atmospheric.
The only other thing is that you seem to be missing the physics objects which is the big thing in HL2DM

Just because physics are in Half-Life 2 doesn't mean you must use them. I like the map, good-job.

Reminds me of that part in HL2 where you face off against the helicopter, nice work. If anything you should make the ambient lighting a tad brighter, and add something like a ship in the middle to break up the open area.

You know you should really add some ramp's to this map for the air boats that would be really cool. the sky it makes me wanna cry its so dull and gloomy try have a better lighter sky texture.
