Hi all. Im new to maping. Tried backin TFC 1.4 days but didnt like it. Waiting for DoD:S to come out so im learning the ropes.

Im working on a map for CS:S and want to know exactly how to make the light fixtures like these:

Could someone point me to a good tutorial? And what are some of the cool new features in the HL2 engine that will allow me to do this?

Those are models using some sprites and presumably light entities. We'll have some tuts when the full SDK comes out :smile:

Some of teh niftier lighting effects, like the effect on the wall caused by the exit signs and security lights in Office, as shown in the screenshot above are actually decals/overlays created for the situation, too.
