done with Hammer 3.4 into Hammer 4 to go on with work for Half-Life 2?

You have to 'export to .map' in Hammer 3.4 then you can open it in Hammer 4, although you will lose all your textures (unless you import them in or something) and your entities will be wrong.

I don't used much textures at all... I was only un building process not in texturing the map!!! But thx for all!!!

You can open .rmf files in Hammer 4.0 without converting to .map first. I done it. Either way though you do still lose your textures.
