Hey Dudes~

I am getting this bogus error when I try to switch from model quality from low to medium in HL2:

'The instruction '0x241f7c37' reference memory at '0x0106f5c0.' The memory could not be 'read'. Click 'OK' to terminate program.'

I googled it and apparently a lot of people have had the same problem. My memory stick is just fine. This also seems to be a primarily AMD problem. I was scanning through the web results and it all seemed mighty confusing and unresourceful. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and was able to fix it. :leper:

Have you tried the Steam support system?

checking

[EDIT]

OK...Check the Steam forums. I need to know how to 'adjust the memory allocation heapsize in the game properties according to my RAM size.' This only started happening after I tried the stupid HL2 HardwareOC Benchmark software. I have no idea what that was, but it would freeze HL2 upon startup and it made things run in very low fps (around 7-10).

How do you adjust the heapsize? I looked that the whole list of cvars (around 1,800) and found nothing....any ideas?
