As far as I know, no one has figured out how to use custom sounds in CSS or HL2DM yet. It might not be supported at the moment.

Ok, thanks but i doesnt work. I think Im too stupid for this, so it would be kind if you helped me.

I have the sound csdoor.wav and want to have it in a map for cs:s. So i looked into the "counter-strike source shared.gcf" and found the door-sounds in [root]/cstrike/sound/doors

so created a folder in my steamapps-folder named cstrike, in this folder i created a folder named sound and in there a folder named doors again. there i placed the csdoor.wav. Now in "hammer", i searched for a standard door-sound which was shown in doors/*.wav. i selected it and replaced the standard sound-name with "csdoor".

This is /doors/csdoor.wav now, but it doesnt work. So I tried cstrike/sound/doors/csdoor.wav .. NOTHING

PLEASE HELP ME!

I do know that when you want to play the mp3 single player songs using an ambient generic, you have to trigger it and give it a slight delay, or else it wont work. Perhaps it is the same with your problem. Try having something activate the sound with a delay. If its a door you could use the input output triggers, so when you open the door it plays the sound. when u close the door, plays the other sound. Thing is, triggered sounds don't like to be activated again as far as I know.
